Last week, Judy, a listener of our radio show,"Everyday Food," had a great question: What should she and her daughter prepare for her future daughter-in-law’s wedding shower? Judy was looking for familiar dishes with a twist (just the kind of thing we love to do at “Everyday Food”).
Well, take a look: Egg salad with crumbled bacon and chives, a chicken salad, a couple of cream cheese spreads, cupcakes, angel food cake, lemon curd -- I’d say that’s one lucky daughter- and sister-in-law-to-be! Thanks for sharing, Judy.
Judy’s daughter is on the right and the bride-to-be is on the left. Her daughter decorated the house with 35 bud vases filled with Gerbera daises. When the party was over, each guest took a vase home as a gift.
Judy and her daughter had a cupcake tower and angel food cake served with lemon curd, creme fraiche, and fresh raspberries.
"Folks raved about adding crumbled bacon and chives to the egg salad spread!" Judy says. "The chicken salad was also very good, as well as the two cream cheese spreads, one with dill and the other with cucumber."
