Have you listened to my new show, "Whole Living," on Martha Stewart Living Radio (Sirius channel 112)? We talk about different ways to live healthy, live responsibly, and live well. You can tune in every weekday at 10 a.m. EST.
One of my favorite "Whole Living" activities is to go to my local farmers' market at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn, New York with my best friend, Buddy.
Do you shop at a farmers' market near you? July and August are my favorite months to visit the farmers' market because I love summer fruits.
Blueberry season means it's time for me to cook scones that my family enjoys. They're perfect for breakfast or a snack and, because of the berries, they're packed with nutrition.
Did you know that a 1/2 cup of blueberries provides a generous amount of iron, potassium, and vitamin C? And it has only 40 calories!
My blueberry scone recipe is simple, but so delicious. Maybe what makes it so good (besides berries) is the secret ingredient –- buttermilk. From appetizers to desserts, buttermilk can be used to make many fabulous dishes.
My recipe calls for 1/2 cup of fruit, but when I've struck "blue gold" (an abundance of delicious blueberries) like I did at the market last weekend, I can't resist adding more blueberries so every bite is packed with fruit.

If you try these scones, let me know what you think! If you have other favorite recipes using fresh, local blueberries or other ways to make scones, or other recipes with buttermilk that your family enjoys, I'd love to hear about them, too.
Meanwhile, I hope you'll tune in to "Whole Living" and look for my next blog post, when I'll share my secret for finding balance in a busy day.
