Last week I went to the Martha Stewart Crafts Fair and Bake Sale! Employees were given the chance to show off (and sell) their crafts and baked goods to the rest of the company.
All bake sale proceeds will go toward gifts and a holiday party for the children of George Washington Carver Residences, which houses more than 5,000 New Yorkers. It's also across the street from the Martha Stewart Center for Living.

Martha Stewart is absolutely filled with talented people! I was blown away by the creativity and talent of my coworkers.
Here's a handmade snowflake ornament created by a quilling technique.
Festive clips and brooches.
Handmade gift tags and cards.
Fun, fabulous jewelry.
There were tons of tasty treats!
There were even sweets from Emeril Lagasse (who's part of our company now), with autographed gift tags!
Martha enjoyed the festivities with Kevin Sharkey, executive editorial director of decorating for our company.
Purl (a knitting shop in New York City) provided yarn so that we could make blankets to donate to Women in Need. WIN helps provide shelter and housing for homeless families.
Each participant got a chance to knit a square for the WIN blankets.
For those who didn't know how to knit, lessons were given right there!
My favorite purchase of the evening was a brand-new sewing machine! I've been learning to sew this past year and can finally practice some of my new patterns at home. I can't wait to make my own handmade gifts this year!
Are you making any great hand-made gifts this year? Share your ideas here!

That sounds great, but when? Title says "Come to ...."

Hi Tom -- "Come to" meaning "experience this event" but I totally see your point and changed the title to "Check Out." I don't want to mislead our readers!

I heard on the radio today about Martha Stewart still having some sewing machine to give away =- Is this true and if so how can I apply?
