Every woman dreams of her perfect wedding day. Yes, even a career-minded woman like me. And this past May my dreams came true. I married my long-time sweetheart and wanted to share the exciting news with all of you!

My dream was a simple, yet elegant sunset wedding in the Florida Keys surrounded by my immediate family. Our special day needed to be both meaningful and memorable -- and it was! This was due to the support of several of my career-coaching clients -- people with passion and talent.

My dress was so important to me so I decided to go for a custom-design gown. I enlisted the help of my client and independent designer Trisha Ginter, co-founder of Smashing Darling. Trisha didn’t tell me what my dress should look like. Rather she encouraged me to create the dress I wanted to wear. We looked through my closet at my favorite outfits, accessories, and shoes so she could get a sense for my style. According to Trisha, comfort was also key and she found the perfect soft fabric in my favorite color -- sky blue. Trisha even went above and beyond (which often happens when you work with people who love what they do) and designed a one-of-a-kind Swarovski crystal-inspired tiara -- in blue of course!

The wedding photos were also an area where passion and expertise were crucial. We wanted to capture the day with candid yet beautiful photos. It was an easy choice to hire my client Ann Wilkinson for the job. An avid listener to "Making a Living with Maggie," Ann is also a career-coaching client. Her strengths in bringing out the best in people on film were so evident in her photos.

Last but definitely not least, my travel writer husband Craig Zabransky planned our honeymoon. Craig has travelled the world both for work and pleasure and always reminds his readers to "stay adventurous." He planned a two-week adventure to the exotic Indonesian islands of Bali and Lombok in the Indian Ocean. From hiking through waterfalls and rice paddies to visiting mystical temples and eating delicious food, we thoroughly enjoyed kicking off our new life together as husband and wife! You can get truly amazing results when you work with people excited about their profession. Maybe it’s the career coach in me but I think that’s a great lesson for life and for making a living.
