Word of the day: bûche de Noël.

Posted by

If you can’t burn an actual Yule log for Christmas, do the next best thing: Eat one. The French have a classic Christmas cake called bûche de Noël, which means Yule log. This dessert has the texture of a sponge cake insisde, wrapped in chocolate or buttercream. A thin layer of fondant forms the outer covering, and is decorated to give it a faux-bois finish.
