Who is the person behind the tweets?!

We're one step closer to uncovering the mystery of @RuthBourdain -- a clever mashup of Ruth Riechl's poetic tweets and Anthony Bourdain's no-holds-barred attitude. Eric Ripert and Anthony Bourdain had the chance to speculate on Ruth Bourdain's identity on an episode of "Turn & Burn," when Ruth Reichl surprised the chefs with a phone call.  And the food world has been abuzz with ideas about who the mystery tweeter could be!  So we tracked down Ruth Bourdain, who recently spoke with Mario Bosquez on "Living Today."  The identity remains a mystery, but a few details do get revealed!

In the clip below, Ruth Bourdain explained  how the identity was born.   The real voice was concealed with a voice scrambler, to ensure that we keep the secret safe.

  • Can't wait. @ruthbourdain is the funniest thing to hit the #twitteruniverse since my first tweet.

  • I know this: He's a dude and he's originally from the Midwest. Probably works in or near the publishing industry. Has a "good" job because he's tied up in the morning. I think I know who it is but that's all for now.

  • @liberage -- I don't want to give away the interview but in it, he mentions he lives in the Northeast.

  • Yeah -- I said "originally." Like where he grew up.

  • @liberage & @alexis that certainly narrows it down. Not many people have moved from the Midwest to the Northeast especially in or near the publishing industry. That's unheard of. Clearly it's Ted Allen. Just kidding. A little mystery is good for the soul.

  • Author Comment:

In the interview he also said that he has an iPhone and created his name due to the "Turn and Burn" show so he must be a Sirius XM subscriber.

  • I have no clue who @ruthbourdain could be, but I hope it sticks around for a while. Hilarious!
