'Green' Green Lawn Mower Giveaway!

Posted by MSLO Blogger

This morning on Homegrown, Andrew and I announced the start of our “'Green' Green Lawn Giveaway” contest. You, dear listeners, are eligible to win a really FABULOUS prize—the Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower.

To win, you have to tell Andrew, Stacey and myself in 150 words or less just what it is about your lawn that you admire, adore, cherish, exalt, prize, revere, what have you.  We'll be taking submissions at homegrown@marthastewart.com until 11:59 pm EDT on June 1st. After that,  Andrew, Stacey and I will read through them all, pick the best three and post them to the blog on Tuesday, June 8th. You listeners/readers out there will then be able to vote for your favorite finalist until June 14—and the submission with the most votes will win the grand prize. It's that simple. For the official rules click here.

The Momentum mower is self sharpening, ergonomically designed for comfort, and has a special gear mechanism that lets you power through turf grass like you were using a power mower. So get your essay in to homegrown@marthastewart.com by the end of the day on June 1st. This is one heck of a nice mower and it's yours if you win us all over.  Good luck to everyone!

  • I love my yard because my Grandson does the work on it,he is mentally challenged, but he can make anything grow,we live in the middle of a small town,I keep getting complaments on my pretty flowers, and I tell them, my Grandson does it,that he can make a stick sprout if he sticks it into the ground,he also takes care of his Mothers yard, they live out of town, but they have lots of complaments too.

  • My husband push mows 4 achers and I dont think you will ever find a more giving man. This man works 5 days a week a public job and then he comes home tends to our 3 kids while i work 2 jobs and go to school full time for nursing. I think if anyone ever deserved any extras on his plate it should be the man that supports our family.
    thank you for your consideration

  • I love my truly green lawn because it is thick and beautiful. I love to walk across my lawn with my bare feet. I like the way it cushions the fall of my loved ones when they are playing around in the yard. It makes me feel proud when my guest comment on my beautiful green lawn. I love the smell of my lawn when it has just been mowed. It not only smells good, but it looks like it should be on the cover of a magazine. I am in love with my truly green lawn because it makes me feel good to sit back and relax in a yard fit for a queen.

  • My lawn is beautiful, green, and has no spruce needles on it now so we can enjoy running barefoot on it. Spruce trees grew in front of our house for almost fifty years and the whole town was sad to see them go but mowing will be easier and now our home can bee seen. Our sons still have not forgiven me for having trees removed but with Green Lawn Mower, I think they will accept the loss.

  • Great idea! This can help people see that a green mower is just as good as a gas mower!

  • I'm extremely inspired together with your writing abilities and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid subject or did you modify it yourself? Anyway stay up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to see a nice blog like this one today..
