My colleague Tiffany Sun (online editor for marthastewart.com) and I attended the kickoff party for the Lucky Rice Festival. It was held at the Bowery Hotel in downtown NYC. The theme was Asian-inspired cocktails -- and the best bars in NYC served tasty libations. Plum Lady cocktail, anyone? Oh and we met a very tall Kelly Choi. Check out my photos!
Daniel restaurant served an intriguing White Cosmopolitan (Kissui vodka, St. Germian, white cranberry juice and lime).
My colleague Tiffany Sun and I pose with the gorgeous Kelly Choi, host of Bravo's "Top Chef Masters." And YES, she's way taller than us.
Macao Trading Co. whipped up a Drunken Dragon's Milk (green tea vodka, coconut puree, Thai basil and 5 spice bitters).
Do you love jam? Then you'll heart cocktails from Madam Geneva. The one above is Madam's Rhubarb Lemongrass Homemade Preserves (Bulldog gin, homemade preserves and lemon).
wd-50 restaurant embraced the warm weather and served Spring Fever drinks (Bulldog gin, yamamomo berry and yozu juice).
This lady from Pegu Club looked happy making a Plum Lady (gin, plum wine, plum brandy and cherry liqueur).
A mixologist from Apotheke (they serve over 250 house cocktails!) makes a Spicy Tomato Basil drink (Bulldog gin, muddled cherry tomatoes, basil, habanero bitters, black and red peppercorns with a fennel-himalayan salt rim).
I was excited to see Summit Bar at the party since it's right around the corner from my apartment!
I tasted their Charmane’s Star (Russian Standard vodka, cucumber, shiso leaf, fresh lime, Vietnamese cinnamon infused agave and rhubarb bitters).
A bustling crowd. The party was held on the 2nd floor of the Bowery Hotel. The 2nd floor is host to wedding receptions, after parties for film premieres and other fun stuff.
A mixologist from En Japanese Brasserie serves Homemade Ginger Ale with Rice Shochu (hakutake shiro, homemade ginger syrup, lime and club soda).
Pastry chef Pichet Ong's Spot Dessert Bar was in the house! They served corn crema with tropical fruit. It was SO GOOD. I ate 3 cups of it!
