Wylie Dufresne Blinds Us with Science, Serves a Killer Cocktail

Chef Wylie Dufresne and Bar Manager Tona Palomino from New York's wd-50 restaurant joined us on "Cooking with Emeril" today to talk about the science of cooking and the joy of eating, and they stirred up one heck of a summer cocktail besides.

Wylie's high-tech, highly creative cooking can be hard to describe, but here he is boiling it down for all the folks at home.

But enough about food, drink up!  This refreshing cocktail is about to replace the daiquiri as my official house drink for summer.

Recipe by Tona Palomino, wd-50

2 oz Sake
2 oz Coconut Water (Ideally, use fresh coconut water as opposed to pre-packaged.)
1/2 oz Cachaca
1/2 tsp Simple Syrup

Pour ingredients into a pint glass, cocktail shaker, or any wide glass. Cover completely with ice and stir for 10 to 15 seconds. Strain into a previously chilled glass to serve.
