If you're looking for fun and new cocktails for your 4th of July weekend, break out the Moonshine, or White Dog, and try some of these recipes from Allen Katz!
GINGER SHINE
2 ounces White Dog or Moonshine
3/4 ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
3/8 ounce Ginger Syrup
3/8 ounce Le Combier Triple Sec
2 dashes angostura orange bitters
Shake ingredients over ice and strain into an old-fashioned glass over fresh ice. Garnish with an orange twist.
MOONLIGHT PUNCH
2 ounces White Dog or Moonshine
1/2 ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 ounce Fresh Orange Juice
1/2 ounce Real Grenadine
1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
3 blackberries muddled
Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a collins glass filled with fresh ice. Tope with club soda.
LONG LIGHTENING
2 ounce White Dog or Moonshine
1 ounce Fresh Lime Juice
3/4 ounce Simple Syrup
2 cucumber slices muddled
6 mint leafs muddled
2 dashes celery bitters
Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a collins glass filled with fresh ice. Top with club soda.
MIDNIGHT TRAIN
2 ounces White Dog or Moonshine
1/2 ounce Mathilde Pear Liqueur
1 ounce White Peach Puree
1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
1 egg white
3/4 ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
Shake ingredients vigorously over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with three gentle drops of Angostura bitters in the foam of the finished cocktail. Swirl for effect.
