Here are the tasty results of our most recent Weekend Cooking Challenge!!! The members of Mario's Weekend Cooking Challenge baked up wonderful batches of the Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie!
Thanks to David Leite, of Leite's Culinaria, for this amazing recipe which includes cake and bread flour and a dusting of sea salt just before baking.
Simply make the dough, let sit in the fridge for at least 24 hours before baking to allow the flavors to meld, and bake. I experimented with freezing the cookie dough and it was a great success. I made the dough balls, freezed on a cookie sheet, wrapped in freezer paper, and placed in a freezer bag. When freezing the dough, the cookies will keep up to three months (you may need to increase the baking time by one or two minutes if you freeze ahead). This is the perfect bake-ahead for the holidays!!!
Great job everyone and see you at the next Cooking Challenge during the third week of November!
