Got Stains? Check Out Our Top Three Thanksgiving Cleaning Tips

Posted by

Every month Annie Bond joins us on Whole Living to help us clean up our messes the natural and non-toxic way. Today she helped us get ready for the holiday season with tons of advice on preparing our homes for entertaining and getting it back into shape when the parties are over. Here are three of her top tips.

  • Need to polish your silver? Line a pan with aluminum foil, fill it with hot water, and add about two tablespoons each of salt and baking soda. Put in your silver pieces so they touch the foil, and watch as much of the tarnish is lifted away. Rinse clean pieces with water and buff dry with a towel.
  • Spilled candle wax on a tablecloth or rug? Lay a towel on top and heat it up with an iron or hair dryer to lift the wax.
  • Got a red wine stain? Heat up a kettle of water, climb up on a chair, and pour that boiling water down from several feet above onto the stain. It really works!
