With the cupcake craze that has swept the nation in recent years, we've seen delicious cupcakes in a range of sizes and unique flavors line the shelves of bakeries everywhere. It seems every bakery is fighting to invent the latest and greatest version of this coveted confection. Here in New York City, we have Crumbs, Magnolia, Billy's, Buttercup, and many more all fighting to be top-dog in their field.
While I've sampled many a cupcake here in the Big Apple, I have to say, Magnolia is my by far my top pick. There's something about the smell of sweet buttercream that greets you when you enter the doors of their little shop that I just love. Not to mention, their vanilla cupcake with vanilla butter cream (the perfect combo of a buttery cake with rich frosting) and their bannana pudding are simply divine.
