This Carne Guisada from Everyday Food is so good, we may have licked the pot. On its own or in a tortilla – you choose.
A surprise vegetable entry or entrée, lol. I meant to stuff portabellos but instead, they were chopped and cooked with onion, garlic, tomatoes, and spinach. It’s a super flexible no recipe, recipe. Here, I serve it with pasta and tomorrow, we'll combine it with eggs!
I’ve been making this crostata since my daughter tried it from an EDF recipe this fall. The dough uses olive oil, not butter. The filling is whatever you want. This version is her fave-- it has spinach, scallions, feta, and lemon. Make mini tarts in a muffin tin for your next party.
You can have your fruit and dessert too. This EDF recipe calls for three ingredients – pineapple, a touch of sugar, and cinnamon. Throw it under your broiler, top with yogurt, ice cream, or nothing at all.
