During Tuesday's two-hour special, "Out of the Kitchen" with Tom Colicchio, listeners were treated to an entirely different side of the chef, restaurant owner, and TV personality. Tom, who is perhaps most recognized for his role as the head judge on Bravo's "Top Chef," showed listeners that he's also a talented musician and a passionate world hunger activist. Throughout the two hours, he talked with the James Beard Award-nominated Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi, owners of New York City's Torrisi Italian Specialties; Bill Telepan and Michel Nischan, both chefs and food activists; Phil Roy, chef-turned-musician; and Jonathan Waxman, chef at New York City's Barbuto. In addition, Tom played guitar and sang two songs with singer/songwriter Milton and his band.
