Twitter Chatting: The Next Big Thing For Gardeners

Posted by

On Thursday's "Homegrown," we were joined by Brenda Haas, a gardener, blogger, photographer, and the founder and administrator of #gardenchat on Twitter. Gardenchat is a phenomonon unto itself - since it began over a year ago, hundreds of gardeners around the world sidle up to their computers every Monday night at 9 p.m. ET, log in to Twitter, type the hashtag "#gardenchat" into the search box, and join together to talk gardening for one full hour. And you can be a part of it, too! Listen as Brenda talks about how #gardenchat got started, how you can participate, and what you can expect from this fun weekly event:

I am hosting my first #gardenchat from @GardenStacey this Monday, April 11, at 9 p.m. ET. On Wednesday, April 13 at 3 p.m. ET, Tony is hosting the second of our vegetable gardening Twitter chats from the @MS_Living handle with the hashtag #mslchat. I hope you can join us for both! It's the perfect chance to learn how Twitter works and what you can learn and teach others during a chat. Brenda has a handy guide to Twitter chatting (complete with video!) on her blog and a facebook page about it, but if you have any questions about the chats, leave us a comment below and we'll be glad to help.

Chat with you soon!
