Beans, whether you buy them canned, or cook them from dried, are a great source of protein, fiber, and vitamins. Canned are certainly the most convenient and perfect to have on hand for pulling together quick dinners. And they taste pretty good too. The downside is that they are about 4 times more expensive than if you cook dried beans, can be mushy, and oftentimes are packed with sodium.
For today's taste test we sampled 3 types of beans: red kidney, cannellini (white kidney), and black beans. It was a blind tasting, as usual, and the beans were both canned and home-cooked.
The canned beans were preferred across the board. The white beans were creamier, the red kidney beans more flavorful and the black beans more interesting than their home-cooked cousins.

Iterating show today...loved Sandy's money saving tip on cost difference/volume between the 2. Sandy's easy to follow instructions using the pressure cooker worked beautifully. Used my pressure cooker for the 1st time to cook dry beans...according to Sandy.
Thanks!,
