Westminster Dog Show - Day 1

Day 1 of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show included the debut of a familiar face!

The 136th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show began yesterday with a lot of buzz around the 6 new breeds eligible to participate this year (American English Coonhound, Cesky Terrier, Entlebucher Mountain Dog, Finnish Lapphund, Norwegian Lundehund & Xoloitzcuintli).

Judging commenced for the Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding breeds today. But without question, the most excitement for us came when Martha’s own Chow Chow Genghis Khan hit the floor with handler Jan Kolnik. Following in his father Maddox’s footsteps (or paw prints), ‘GK’ beat out 3 other dogs to win Best Of Breed, earning him entry into last night’s Non-Sporting Group competition.
